"I see a cocky, scared, shitless kid."

We all think Robin Williams is this big goofball, but I have to say, his greatest pieces are his serious monologues (i.e. Mrs. Doubtfire, Dead Poet's Society...and Good Will Hunting.)

I watched this on Bravo a couple days ago and remembered how this could easily qualify as one of my favorite movies. Boy genius from the slums of South Boston works at Harvard as a custodian...Anyway, if you forgot about the movie, I'll set this scene up. Matt Damon's been discovered by a harvard professor and has gone through countless therapists (to escape jail time) until he meets his last hope...Robin Williams. And in true fashion, Will Hunting (Matt Damon) shreds up Robin Williams' life with his book smarts and cynicism. Has Williams given up on the genius foster kid?....

NO! Looks like he hasn't! Classic life knowledge vs. book knowledge speech. School isnt everything, and neither is this Huck Finn notion of exploring the world. There comes a time when both are equally important. I've learned from this speech not to undermine either, and just feel blessed for what opportunities and experiences I've been given thus far, in and out of school.
